CAD100 - Introduction to Computer-Aided Design
Course Description
This course provides students with a broad introduction into 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and modeling with a focus on construction- and architecture-specific applications. Students will learn how to use industry-leading CAD software programs (Autodesk, AutoCad and Google SketchUp) to model construction projects, and then create and distribute basic, industry-standard architectural drawings.

Software Needed: Students can download the AutoCAD software for free: https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/autocad-lt
Important:
- Students must have AutoCAD software installed on their computers prior to the first class meeting.
- Laptops used in class may run on either Windows OS or Mac OS, and students must have a mouse for each class meeting.
- The course textbook is optional but recommended for practice outside of class.
