TPA103 - California Teaching Performance Assessment Seminar III
Course Description
This online course provides support for Cal Poly Pomona students attempting to be recommended for their preliminary credential under the CalTPA Secondary Passing Standard. Your instructor will confirm if you meet the requirements per PSA 24-02; assess your CalTPA and TPE performance; help you identify and document evidence of demonstrating competency in the TPEs for the credential sought; and help you complete an updated Individual Development Plan (IDP) and TPA Verification Form so you can apply to be recommended for your preliminary credential.
For Cal Poly Pomona students that qualify for the TPA secondary passing standard per PSA 24-02
- CalTPA Instructor Appointment
- Evaluation of Candidate Qualifications for the Secondary Passing Standard (CalTPA Scores, RICA Scores for Multiple Subject and Education Specialist Applicants, and Transcript)
- Assessment of CalTPA Performance
- Assessment of TPE Performance (Former Individual Development Plan, Clinical Practice Evaluations/Observations, Course Assignments) to Identify and Document Evidence of Demonstrating Competency in All Domains of the TPEs for the Credential Sought.
- Completion of Updated Individual Development Plan Reflecting TPA Performance and Evidence from Other Sources Supporting a Preliminary Credential Recommendation Under the Secondary Passing Standard.
- Completion of Teacher Performance Assessment Verification Form CL-911.
- Initiate Application for the Preliminary Credential.
